   Come Bright December
                                                     "Sure On This Shining Night"
features Rosemary's vocals and instrumental colourings, and the inspired
piano of Emilyn Stam (accompanist to the late Oliver Schroer).  Many of the tracks are live, improvisational piano/vocal duets. Other featured artists include Jason LaPrade (dobro), Bryden Baird (flugelhorn, trumpet), Tannis Slimmon, Allison Lupton, and Rebecca Kurtis-Pomeroy (vocal harmonies). This serene album offers an unusual array of rarely-heard carols, lullabies, and a haunting Gregorian chant.

    Avalanche Lily      (2007)

Picture
"... an understated yet powerful collection that will, in my opinion, quickly become a standard." Steve Clarke, Acoustic Planet

In these times the earth itself is like an avalanche lily; perched at the edge of survival, yet still vibrant and filled with hope. Life’s dual nature of strength and fragility runs through Avalanche Lily, from the powerful epiphanies of a fallen peacekeeper (“The Ballad of Tom Stone”), to the title track’s delicate song-poem for an infant born prematurely.

DAVE CLARKE ~ acoustic guitar  CHRIS COOLE~ banjo, vocals JASON LAPRADE ~ dobro, acoustic & electric guitars, lapsteel, bass, backing vocals   TESSA LEWIS ~ fiddle   SUZIE VINNICK ~ backing vocals   ADAM WARNER ~ percussion, backing vocals DAVID WOODHEAD ~ fretless bass, bass, accordion

Wake the Nightingale ~ songs for solace and sleep     (2008)

Picture

Wake the Nightingale is a serene yet decidedly untraditional lullaby album. It offers several Appalachian tunes, a few originals, two Irish songs and one in Swahili, a spoken word piece nested in a background of Cherokee chant, and two instrumentals. The instrumentation ranges from guitar and piano to mountain dulcimer, dobro, celtic harp, shruti box, glockenspiel, sand drum, and ethereal, layered vocal harmonies. Unlike many CDs, Wake the Nightingale grows quieter with each track; this was done with the intention of helping the listener to feel progressively more peaceful (and perhaps even fall asleep.) It's suitable for any age.

*NOTE: for technical reasons, the unlisted bonus track (a celtic-inspired harp/waterfall/sand drum instrumental) is available on the CD, but not on the download version.

This album was made with love, and the intent to soothe and comfort.

ROSEMARY ~ vocals, guitar, mountain dulcimer, celtic harp, shruti box, glockenspiel, sand drum, wind chimes
